Apple TV struggles with Netflix and the others

Apple's foray into video streaming has apparently not yet paid off.

Almost two years after entering the market, the Apple TV + streaming platform is struggling to compete. That's what the JustWatch streaming program recommendations guide (via ChannelNews) estimates, which also provides TV market analysis.

In the second quarter of 2021, Apple TV + would occupy only 3% of the American market, where the leader Netflix is at 31%, followed by Amazon Prime with 22%. The next ones are Hulu (14%), Disney + (13%), HBO Max (9%) and Peacock (4%).

The problem for Apple TV + is that the service came before Peacock, Disney + and HBO Max, which are now well ahead. It remains to be seen whether the creator of the iPhone will use this slow growth to settle in for the long term.
