The leaks and rumors have accelerated in recent days, as Apple Stores are said to have already received the promotional material to support the launch of the brand’s brand-new product, a connected screen for the home. Release expected on Tuesday, October 13.
The new Siri in charge
This device, which was originally supposed to launch in early 2025 before being pushed back to the end of that same year, was apparently technically ready. However, because its operation relies heavily on the new Siri, unavailable at the time, Apple preferred to wait. This super-assistant has now become a reality, and notably makes it possible to use user data to respond much more effectively to complex requests.
A control tower with facial recognition
A true control tower, the product is presented as a central interface for controlling household devices, communicating with other people, accessing your multimedia content, and using Apple services. It features a new operating system using the graphical codes of the brand’s other OSes. In addition to video calls, the camera is capable of visually recognizing household users so as to automatically display the information and widgets relevant to them on the screen.
A design inspired by the iMac G4
In form, it is a tablet with a 6" square screen (15.24 cm), mounted at the end of an arm on a half-dome metal base, in the style of the iMac G4. This base houses the main speaker, and the screen comes with pre-installed apps such as the Safari browser, a music player, and a news feed. Notably, it is also equipped with a front camera and, above all, a rechargeable battery, suggesting that it can be easily moved from room to room. Among the recently revealed details, it is known that the home screen will be customizable, iPhone Duo style, for example with slideshows (leaked photo below).
