After reviving the Predator franchise, Dan Trachtenberg is now interested in Freddy

Is Dan Trachtenberg, the filmmaker behind Prey and Predator: Badlands, turning to another genre character with a name just as iconic as Freddy's? Yes and no!
The director is indeed expected to co-direct and produce an as-yet-untitled animated feature film, adapted from Yehudi Mercado's graphic novel Freddy the 13th. A super cute Freddy? Not to be confused with a Freddy vs. Jason-style project, this Paramount Animation production promises "family-friendly thrills and laughs, rated PG." The story follows a family vacation that goes horribly wrong when the lovable Uncle Freddy accidentally kills the Boogeyman and inherits his powers. His family must then embark on a quest to break the curse. Yehudi Mercado will co-direct the film, while Dan Trachtenberg and Ben Rosenblatt will produce. The project was announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
