PictoNico on mobile, wacky free‑to‑start concept 100% Nintendo

Always surprising us, Nintendo launches a new mobile game where your personal photos become mini-games.
Despite some serious forays, Nintendo has never managed to carve out a significant niche in the mobile gaming market. The Japanese giant isn't giving up, however, and is once again distinguishing itself with its quirky, not to say disarmingly naive, approach. Nintendo persists in mobile gaming despite limited success. Thus, PicoNico will be released on May 28th for Android and iOS devices, a collection of mini-games comparable to the legendary WarioWare saga, which exploits the specific features of the mobile platform, particularly photo capture. The mini-games are built around portraits of yourself or your loved ones, captured specifically for playing. PicoNico transforms your photos into wacky mini-games. Faces are used to create absurd situations and are even distorted to simulate, for example, a mouth opening to gobble up virtual food. A crazy game only Nintendo could create, available as a free-to-start title, with level packs to purchase later.
