Announced late last year, the $1 coin featuring Apple founder Steve Jobs is now on sale in the United States.
Late last year, the United States Mint, the agency that produces and circulates American coins, announced that Steve Jobs would represent the state of California in 2026 as part of the special "American Innovation $1 Coin" series. The time has come, as this collector's coin is available for $2.44 each (yes, really!), $61 for a roll of 25, or $154.50 for a bag of 100. As a reminder, this program, launched in 2018, highlights innovations or innovators from all 50 U.S. states and territories each year. California Dreams: The coin depicts a young Steve Jobs in his signature jeans/sneakers/turtleneck combo, sitting in a meditative pose amidst a rolling Californian landscape. "Steve Jobs' innovative and entrepreneurial spirit embodied the best of California, shaping the future we all know." “Today,” said Gavin Newsom, Governor of California, “his tenacity and bold pursuit of the California dream made so many American dreams a reality. May we all strive to live up to his legacy by pursuing our own California dreams.”
