More recently, he informs us that the timeline has been brought forward, and that this device could be mass-produced as early as the beginning of 2027 for a release before the end of this year. OpenAI would indeed like to coincide this release with its IPO, initially planned for the end of 2026 but postponed to 2027. A high-end model with a 2-nanometer MediaTek chip. Furthermore, Kuo specifies that the device would be a high-end model, equipped with a custom MediaTek Dimensity 9600 application processor with a 2nm manufacturing process, produced by TSMC in the second half of 2026. The smartphone would also feature a dual NPU (Neural Processing Unit) architecture to distribute AI-related tasks and conserve battery life.
