Huawei Watch Fit 5 and Fit 5 Pro: 2026 smartwatches with brighter screens and improved battery life

The Huawei Watch Fit 5 and Fit 5 Pro will be officially launched tomorrow, May 7th, at a global event in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will feature a significant upgrade, particularly for the Pro model which boasts an LTPO AMOLED display, a titanium frame, and advanced health and diving features.
Huawei is preparing to launch the Watch Fit 5 and Watch Fit 5 Pro, two smartwatches that retain the rectangular shape (like the Apple Watch) of previous models while introducing a significant upgrade, especially for the Pro model. Both watches share a 471 mAh battery, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC compatibility, integrated GPS, and IP6X certification. The advertised battery life reaches 10 days in Power Saving mode, 7 days in normal use, and 4 days with the Always-On display enabled. Design and materials: recycled aluminum or titanium depending on the model. The Huawei Watch Fit 5 features a 100% recycled aluminum case, weighing 27 g and measuring 9.5 millimeters thick. It is offered in black, white, green, off-white, yellow with a white strap, and also in purple, according to initial reports. The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro features a titanium alloy frame, 2.5D sapphire crystal, and weighs 30.4 grams. It will be available in black, white, and orange.

Screens: 1.82" AMOLED or 1.92" LTPO AMOLED

The Huawei Watch Fit 5 features a 1.82" (4.62 cm) AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 × 408 pixels and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro boasts a 1.92" (4.87 cm) LTPO OLED display with a claimed peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits and an 83% screen-to-body ratio, marking a significant improvement in readability and display sharpness.

Advanced features for the Watch Fit 5 Pro££££

The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro boasts several features not found in the standard model, including an electrocardiogram (ECG), a depth sensor, support for freediving up to 40m, and access to offline color maps. It also offers automatic workout detection.

Both watches are based on the Huawei TruSense health platform, which manages heart rate, body temperature, atmospheric pressure, movement, and orientation.

Sport, health, and new workout modes££££

The Watch Fit 5 series also introduces new sports modes, including dedicated profiles for running, cycling, tennis, badminton, and basketball. Fall detection has been improved and the straps have been redesigned for better breathability. Classic health and fitness tracking features are included, notably dual-frequency GPS, blood oxygen measurement, body temperature, and arterial stiffness. Huawei Watch Fit 5/Fit 5 Pro: Battery Life and Charging; Battery life reaches 10 days in Power Saving mode, 7 days in normal use, and 4 days with the Always-On Display enabled. The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro adds fast wireless charging, which is absent from the standard model. Availability announced for May 7th.
