iPhone 18, 12GB of RAM for the first time?

Despite previous rumors suggesting downgrades in specifications, the base iPhone 18 could stand out in terms of RAM.
According to analyst Dan Nystedt, the iPhone 18 will have 12GB of RAM, the same as the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. This would be the first time the flagship iPhone has offered so much RAM. The iPhone 18 would benefit from unprecedented RAM capacity, ideal for Apple Intelligence. In short, the more RAM a device has, the better it handles multitasking and the less it experiences unexpected slowdowns. This is a significant advantage, especially considering Apple plans to cut costs on the technical specifications of this model, reducing the gap with the entry-level iPhone, the iPhone 18e, which is expected to be released at the same time. The increased RAM capacity could be related to the arrival of new Apple Intelligence features, including an improved Siri assistant. AI processing is particularly memory-intensive, and a generous amount of RAM will allow it to run smoothly. In line with Apple's new release schedule, the iPhone 18 will be released in spring 2027, alongside the iPhone 18e and the iPhone Air 2.
