Is Apple being stingy with the iPhone 18? The first rumors are worrying.

To reduce production costs, the iPhone 18 would lose some specifications, narrowing its technical gap with the iPhone 18e.
According to sources within the Asian factory chain, the difference in specifications between the iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18e is less than that between the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17e. A smaller gap between iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. In other words, compared to usual, Apple is making savings on the production processes of the iPhone 18, particularly in two specific areas: the screen and the main processor. This could be seen as a cost-cutting measure by the company, a way to squeeze out a few extra dollars here and there, but it could also be a strategy in response to rising memory chip prices, to avoid inflating the device's price too much. Key differences remain nonetheless. In detail, the screen is expected to have a reduced peak brightness (3,000 nits for the previous iPhone 17), and lose a GPU core on the main processor, like the iPhone 17e compared to the iPhone 17. However, the iPhone 18 would continue to differ from the iPhone 18e in several areas: screen size, ProMotion, Dynamic Island, main cameras, and battery life.
