iPhone Plus returns in 2027: Apple is reportedly preparing a surprise model

iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16 Plus… then nothing. This member of the iPhone lineup disappeared in 2025 to make way for the new ultra-thin iPhone Air. But a comeback seems to be on the horizon. iPhone 18 Plus or iPhone Air 2, place your bets! According to the latest report from analyst Tim Long of the investment bank Barclays, Apple plans to launch two more models alongside the base iPhone 18, expected to be released in March 2027, in line with the manufacturer's schedule of now spreading its releases over two dates in the year, rather than one. Among these two models are the low-cost iPhone 18e and either an iPhone 18 Plus or an iPhone Air 2. Given that this is the first time a rumor about a new iPhone Plus has surfaced, and that the iPhone Air 2 has been mentioned in recent leaks, doubt remains regarding the return of this model, which apparently wasn't successful enough in its original release.
