HDR Dolby Vision, HDR10 and 3D on Disney, the return!

For obscure legal reasons, Disney+ content lost the HDR Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 3D formats for a few weeks.
By the end of 2025, various German media outlets noted that the HDR Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats had disappeared from Disney+ in their country, even for subscribers paying for the Premium option. And this happened surreptitiously… The Disney+ service was degraded due to legal issues. The same situation occurred in January and February in other European countries, including France, with the disappearance of 3D for Apple Vision Pro content that uses Dolby Vision HDR. "Technical difficulties," Disney explained at the time. A nasty, big lie then, from the company with the big ears, probably to avoid refunding all or part of their subscriptions to the affected customers, since it was actually a legal dispute in Germany with the company InterDigital, known as a "patent troll," suing not to defend a legitimate infringement of property rights, but just to make a quick buck, a quick buck, a quick buck, a quick buck, a quick buck, a quick buck, a quick buck... money, in short! Issues now admitted by Disney, which has finally resolved the problem, and has therefore reactivated the previously inaccessible formats on its Disney+ platform. Disney's statement: In a statement to our colleagues at Flatpanels HD, the Disney company declared: "Dolby Vision and 3D support has now been restored on Disney+." Following a lawsuit before a German patent court, we have been forced to make changes to the availability of certain advanced video formats in Germany and other markets. We are disappointed that this has been necessary and share our customers' frustration. We have been working as quickly as possible to implement solutions that ensure viewers have the best possible experience on their devices and with their subscriptions. As a reminder, HDR10+ has never been available in Europe.
