TCL NXTPaper AMOLED screen, a perfect fusion between an e-reader screen and OLED quality

Last week at Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC) in Barcelona, TCL presented its new NXTPaper screen, which has a paper-like feel but displays the warm rendering characteristic of AMOLED (OLED) technology.
At the recent Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona at the beginning of March, TCL unveiled the latest evolution of its NXTPaper screen for mobile devices. TCL NXTPaper AMOLED: the best of both worlds. This technology is known for its paper-like feel and its blue light reduction to decrease eye strain. Its main drawback is that its quality cannot compete with the AMOLED (OLED) screens found on premium smartphones. This shortcoming appears to be addressed with the new NXTPaper AMOLED concept. This screen combines the advantages of NXTPaper with the vibrant and warm rendering of AMOLED. It offers richer colors and increased brightness, while also being gentler on the eyes and maintaining anti-reflective properties. TCL has only presented the screen as a concept so far, but is working to make it a commercially viable product in the future. A word from the CEO of TCL Mobile Phone: "As screen time continues to increase, from the first messages of the morning to nighttime scrolling, eye strain has become a shared experience of our time," said Jefferson Li, CEO of TCL Mobile Phone. "As the primary medium through which we perceive the world and access information, screens must not only deliver exceptional image quality, but also preserve eye health."
