CES 26 > LG Display: OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel announced

Yesterday, we discussed in our columns the new Tandem brand, and its two sub-brands Tandem OLED and Tandem WOLED, from LG Display, which will be showcased by the screen manufacturer at the upcoming CES 2026 in Las Vegas, from January 9th to 13th. A few hours later, the Korean company announced the arrival of its next-generation OLED panels, called Primary RGB Tandem 2.0, an evolution of the Primary RGB Tandem panels that appeared last year on the LG G5/M5, Panasonic Z95B, Philips OLED910, and Philips OLED950 TV series.

Following the Tandem OLED and Tandem WOLED designations, LG Display is once again using video to unveil the latest version of its OLED panels, called Primary RGB Tandem 2.0.

Cleverly, the Asian company mentions two new computer monitors in its video: a 27" [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] [abc]4K[/abc] model and a 39" curved 5K resolution (5120 x 2160 pixels), which will therefore complete its OLED monitor offering in 2026, currently based on a single 27" model (1440p, 540 Hz/720 Hz) offered in 2025.

As you can see, there is no mention of a new OLED TV panel structured around a Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel. However, as mentioned above, the Primary RGB Tandem panels offered this year are also found in premium TVs from several brands and a computer monitor from LG Electronics. We can therefore legitimately expect that Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 technology will also be available in 2026 on certain LG TV series, probably the LG G6 and LG M6, and other brands.

Extending this reasoning further, if these series feature Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 OLED panels, we can also consider that the LG C6 series could potentially use a first-generation Primary RGB Tandem panel. Or even new, less expensive OLED panels already mentioned in our articles (see our LG TV news). C6 models equipped with Primary RGB Tandem OLED panels at CES Las Vegas 2026?
