OpenAI was one of the first serious players in the AI race with its ChatGPT agent, and when its president speaks, we tend to prick up our ears. Thus, according to Sam Altman - CEO and founder of OpenAI - AI will surpass human intelligence by 2030 (enough to destroy humanity?).
"I would certainly say that by the end of this decade, by 2030, if we don't have models that are extraordinarily capable of doing things that we ourselves cannot do, I would be very surprised," Altman said in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt.
AI and overtaking, when will it happen?££££
And to add "I can easily imagine a world where 30% to 40% of the tasks that take place in the economy today will be accomplished by AI in the not too distant future."
Note that OpenAI's competitors are even more optimistic since Elon Musk sees this overtaking stage arriving as early as next year, and the former OpenAI and CEO of Anthropic - Dario Amodei - thinks that AI will overtake humans in all areas by 2027.
