The new iterations of Apple's smartwatches have arrived, including the Apple Watch 11 and the latest, more affordable SE version.
In addition to the Apple Watch Ultra 3 (see our news on the Apple Watch Ultra 3, 5G in orbit and a larger screen), Apple presented two other smartwatches alongside the new iPhone 17 range: the Apple Watch 11 and the new generation of the Apple Watch SE. Apple Watch 11, main specifications££££ Equipped with the same Q10 chip as the previous model, the Apple Watch 11 upgrades to 5G (in the cellular version), and benefits from a more robust screen equipped with the improved Ion-X crystal material, for twice the scratch resistance. Battery life improves, with 24 hours without the need for recharging, compared to the 18 hours of the Apple Watch 10.
On this subject, we note that fast charging offers eight hours of use in just 15 minutes. New software this year: the cardiac hypertension detection function. Apple plans to be able to identify more than a million undiagnosed people in the first year of sale. On a positive note, hypertension detection will arrive later on older models: Apple Watch Ultra 2 as well as Apple Watch 9 and later.
Another new feature is a sleep score to refine the existing sleep tracking. This score takes into account the time in bed, regularity, and the number of awakenings for each sleep cycle. Available in two sizes, 42 mm and 46 millimeters. Recommended price: from 449 euros. Apple Watch SE, it has (almost) everything of the big Apple Watches ££££ Three years after the previous model, a new Apple Watch SE has also been announced. Equipped with an S10 chip, it offers the Always On display functionality, as well as the new Sleep Score of the other models unveiled this year. Also 5G compatible in cellular version, it offers Siri onboard as well as other features of its big sisters (but no hypertension or ECG sensor): double tap, temperature measurement, sleep apnea detection, fast charging…
In short, in 2025, the Apple Watch SE really has (almost) everything of the big Apple Watches. Available in two sizes, 40 mm and 44 millimeters. Recommended price: from 269 euros.
