Apple and Trump, golden friends?

Apple CEO Tim Cook offers a "unique" gold-plated gift to the President of the United States.

At the press conference on August 6th, where Apple announced it was increasing its investments in the United States, the company's CEO Tim Cook offered Donald Trump a unique gift: a personalized piece of Corning glass, on a 24-carat gold base.

A highly symbolic gift given that Corning is one of the few American manufacturers to supply a key component for the iPhone, namely the famous Gorilla Glass protective glass. Moreover, as part of the American Manufacturing Program announced by Tim Cook, Apple will strengthen its ties with Corning by investing $2.5 billion. The two companies will manufacture one of the most sophisticated production lines at Corning's Kentucky factory, dedicated to protective glass for iPhones and Apple Watches. Apple specifies that "soon," these protectors will be 100% manufactured in the USA, revealing that some of them are still produced abroad. A small step toward the future dreamed of by Trump, namely the iPhone completely "made in the USA."
