The device was supposed to roll off the production line last spring, but news has been scarce since then about a HomePod speaker with a 7" (17.8 cm) [abc]LCD[/abc] display, an A18 processor, and Apple Intelligence compatibility.
HomePod with display, hint in iOS code 26££££
Yet rumors have been circulating about the device's arrival in 2025 for a while, and a new hint has just arrived, in the form of a reference to the product in iOS 26 beta 4. Specifically, there is the message - apparently intended for future users - "Your HomePod will not be able to show you the local weather, the time, or respond to Siri queries about your area."
The keyword is naturally "show," indicating that this HomePod will have a screen, capable of "displaying" information. The latest rumors indicated that the screen would be removable and therefore independent, able to be placed on a base that replicates the functions of a HomePod speaker, or fixed to a wall.
