While Huawei released the very first smartphone with a three-panel foldable screen last year, its Chinese competitor Tecno boasted with a prototype that was also foldable in three sections but appeared more elegant because it was much thinner, the Phantom Ultimate 2. It's the same story recently since Tecno waited for the Samsung Unpacked event at the beginning of July to unveil a new version, even more impressive because it is even thinner, of its smartphone.

Indeed, the Korean manufacturer was expected to take advantage of this opportunity to finally announce its three-panel foldable smartphone, which was not the case, even if the device is still supposed to be released this year. No problem, Tecno has still released its Phantom Ultimate G Fold, a model that still folds in three and is incredibly thin, 3.49 mm unfolded (a little over 4 mm for the Z Fold 7) or 11.49 mm folded.

The fully visible screen displays 9.94" (25.24 cm) diagonally and few specifications are revealed, apart from a 5,000 mAh battery and a "high-performance processor". Even if the device seems functional, it is still not intended to be commercialized and we are waiting for Tecno to really enter the ring rather than heckling in the stands every time a competitor appears.
