Steam Deck 2 console, powerful like a PS6?

Valve's handheld console could see a successor, in 2026 at the earliest, equipped with a true next-generation processor.

According to indiscretions gathered and reported by the podcast Moore's Law Is Dead, a new Steam Deck portable console is in the works and should exploit the Zen 6 architecture.

As a reminder, the Zen 6 processor in development at AMD and codenamed "Magnus" is the same one that should run the PlayStation 6 and the next generation Xbox, a considerable technological leap. Naturally, the version for Steam Deck 2 will not have the power of that of a home console, because the limitations of a portable machine in terms of autonomy and cooling must be taken into account. But still...

Knowing that the Zen 6 processor would not materialize until 2026 at the earliest, there is no need to get impatient for the Steam Deck 2 which, itself, would not arrive until at least next year, or even longer.
