Rumors have been circulating for a while about Sony's return to the portable console market. And the supposed PlayStation portable is making headlines again via a leak revealing new suspected technical specifications.

It's KeplerL2 on the Neogaf forum who gives us the information again, the leaker being known for his reliability when it comes to rumors concerning semiconductor manufacturers nVidia and AMD. We learn that the PlayStation portable would be equipped with a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor from AMD and would include graphics upscaling capabilities ([abc]Upscaling[/abc]) via AI algorithms. The machine would also have 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and -only- a third of the memory bandwidth of the current PS5. However, this "defect" would be compensated for by more cache memory and improved data compression. Let's not forget that this is a portable console, therefore smaller and less powerful than a home model.
The "leaker" adds that the portable PlayStation, as well as the future PS6, will have an RDNA5/UDNA architecture (not yet announced by AMD).
