Bigger screen for the base iPhone 17

While all the attention is on the iPhone Pros and the new iPhone Air for the next school year, the base iPhone 17 also has some solid arguments.

New design for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, record thinness for the new iPhone 17 Air, but what about the basic iPhone 17? Will this model take on the role of ugly duckling of the next fall's range?

6.3" diagonal for the iPhone 17 screen ?££££

Not sure, if we are to believe the latest indiscretions noted by analyst Ross Young who, incidentally, corroborates rumors that appeared as early as 2023. According to him, the iPhone 17 screen would have a 6.3" diagonal (6.27" to be precise) compared to 6.1" for the iPhone 16. As a reminder, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max display 6.7" and 6.9" compared to 6.1" and 6.7" on the previous models, while the iPhone 16 had not seen any evolution in terms of screen size.

120 Hz LTPO screen for the iPhone 17 ?££££

In addition to this change in size, the iPhone 17 will also benefit -finally- a 120Hz refresh rate LTPO display, a feature previously reserved for Pro models. In fact, we're even expecting the Always-on feature to arrive on this model. So, there are plenty of arguments that would justify, for some, choosing this, the cheapest model in the 2025 line.
