A Chinese leaker (via weibo) recently corroborated previous rumors about the screens of the 2026 and 2027 iPhones. Thus, the iPhone 18 would move the Face ID sensor under the screen, reducing the oval Dynamic Island at the top of the screen which will turn into a small circular perforation in an upper corner. The trend will continue in 2027 with the camera itself being hidden with Face ID, leaving a pristine screen with no visible sensor.
Glass iPhone to celebrate its 20th anniversary?££££
And as a reminder, 2027 will mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone. Apple is reportedly planning to mark the occasion with a model made primarily of glass that would also benefit from a pristine screen. Classy.
