For a while now, rumors have been circulating about a luxury replacement for the Plus model in the iPhone range: an ultra-thin model called the iPhone 17 Air. A real "newcomer" from Apple, then, but one that is not expected to "break sales records" according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
Apple is looking for a solution for the unloved iPhone range££££
The fourth model in the iPhone range has always been the ugly duckling of the bunch, not really appealing to Apple fans. Those who want to pay less take the base model, those who want more features go for the Pro and Pro Max. The Mini's small size didn't meet with success, and the Plus's large, feature-less screen also failed to win over the public.
iPhone 17 Air, Apple focuses on design!££££
Apple will therefore focus this year on a design aimed at aesthetic lovers. However, Gurman maintains that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will continue to sell more. He nevertheless specifies that this iPhone 17 Air will outperform the iPhone Mini and Plus, and that it could be successful in the long term. In a sign that Apple is undoubtedly on to something, competitor Samsung is also planning to release its slim-line model soon.
