Global tablet sales grew by nearly 9% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 36.8 million units.

This is what Canalys reveals, specifying that Apple still holds the leading position with 13.7 million iPads shipped this quarter and a 37.3% market share, compared to 35.5% in the same period last year. This strong performance is partly explained by the demand from a public wishing to renew the devices purchased en masse during the pandemic in 2020.
Global tablet market, Xiaomi leads Chinese brands££££
Apple's growth is outpacing the average growth of the total market, despite increasingly fierce competition from Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Huawei, and Honor. These brands have notably gained ground by targeting the budget segment. Xiaomi, in particular, stands out with growth of 56.1%, overtaking Lenovo for the first time.
