The film, currently in development at Paramount Pictures, has already found the actor who will play Simon Templar in the person of Régé-Jean Page (Bridgerton, Dungeons & Dragons). The duo Rory Haines-Sohrab Noshirvani were responsible for writing the script.
The Saint initially appeared in a series of books dating from the 1920s, by Leslie Charteris. A literary saga which narrates the adventures of Simon Templar, known as The Saint, a sort of modern-day Robin Hood. In 1960, the book series became an ultra-popular TV series with Roger Moore, then moved to the cinema with the 1997 film of the same name and Val Kilmer in the title role.

This new version is intended to be a complete reinvention of the character in line with the world around him. Note that Doug Liman (The Memory in the skin of the Jason Bourne franchise, which should see a sixth film arrive) is in the process of finishing post-production on another remake, that of Road House, with Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead poster.
