The reboot of The Crow is already making waves

Lionsgates (Frenchman Victor Hadida) has just signed an 8-figure check to acquire the rights to the reboot of The Crow directed by Rupert Sanders with Bill Skarsgård, singer FKA Twigs and Danny Huston.

This will be a re-telling of the original 1994 film which starred Bruce Lee's son Brandon in his final role.

The Crow: nourishing the mythology

The original film and its reboot are adaptations of the graphic novel and character created by James O'Barr. The reboot, shot in Prague and Munich, had a budget of $50 million. Lionsgate even released a statement to celebrate the news: “We know what the character of Crow and the original film mean to millions of fans, and we believe this new film will offer audiences an authentic and visceral reinterpretation of its emotional power and its mythology”.

A Frenchman in the cast of The Crow, the reboot

As a reminder, the story The Crow features a couple, Eric Draven and his fiancée, who die after being assaulted by a gang. Eric is resurrected by a crow and takes revenge on those who took his life and that of his sweetheart. Laura Birn (Foundation), Frenchman Sami Bouajila and Jordan Bolger (The Woman King) complete the cast of the film which, for the moment, does not yet have a release date. Source: Deadline
