Hunt, a political thriller directed by a Squid Game actor

Having made a name for himself recently as an actor in the South Korean series Squid Game, Lee Jung-Jae is trying his hand at directing Hunt, a spy thriller in which he is also one of the main characters. To be discovered in 4K Ultra HD on June 6.

1980: one year after the assassination of President Park in South Korea and the takeover by the army, North Korea sends one of its spies to the country as a scout to plan a new invasion. Two South Korean security officials are tasked with finding the man, as the situation becomes explosive between the two rival countries.

Lee Jung-Jae, an already busy career

While some may have met him in the main role of the Netflix series Squid Game, Lee Jung-Jae has also had an impressive career in South Korea since the 90s with roles in films such as The Housemaid by Im- Sang Soo. Last year, the actor passed for the first time behind the camera with Hunt, a nervous political thriller. Presented out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022, the film was a great box office success in its country with more than 4 million spectators. Lee Jung-Jae himself forms with Jung Woo-sung a duo of agents launched in a terrible race against time, inspired by real events in Korean history.

Race against the clock in HDR Dolby Vision

Released in 2022 in theaters in his country of origin, Hunt will come to us directly in a 4K Ultra HD Steelbook labeled HDR Dolby Vision on June 6 at The Jokers, as well as in a standard single DVD version. On the bonus side, we will find an interview with David Tredler, chief programmer of the Korean Film Festival in Paris.
