At CES 2023, Disney, Imax and DTS announced the arrival of "Imax Signature Sound by DTS" this year. As a reminder, Disney+ added an “Imax Enhanced” option to some of the Marvel films at the end of 2021 on Disney+. Disney then announced that DTS sound would soon arrive in its Imax option.
DTS or DTS:X on Imax Disney+ films?
The time has come, and all Imax Enhanced films in 2023 will benefit from DTS sound, described as “immersive” even if no mention is made of DTS:X. Note that you will need compatible equipment to take advantage of the format. Mentioned for the moment are certified TVs from Sony and Hisense, as well as receivers from Denon, Marantz and JBL.
