The story takes place in an alternate future where normal life no longer exists. Paul (Nicolas Cage) and his teenage twins have managed to resist on their farm, even though they live with fear in their stomachs every day: when the sun goes down, nocturnal creatures awaken to hunt and consume all the living souls that pass. When one of the teenagers makes a mistake, he becomes their number one target. The fight for survival has only just begun.
