Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic, Samsung master of time

Samsung launches its new Wear OS operating system with its latest series of connected watches, the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic.

The main achievement of the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic (see photo below) is to launch the new Wear OS Powered by Samsung operating system, developed in collaboration with Google.

Wear OS Powered by Samsung operating system optimized

It accelerates and homogenizes many processes, for example real-time automatic synchronization of data from different sports applications in Samsung Health. It is also betting on technical improvements made to watches, for example with Google Maps which takes advantage of the increased accuracy of the compass of the Galaxy Watch4 series.

New medical features

Health is also highlighted in these new versions, the first connected watches capable of measuring the user's body composition, parameters usually requiring an impedance meter balance: measurement of BMI, muscle mass, bone density, water or in fat, in particular. Also note an electrocardiogram and blood pressure measurement. Sleep tracking is also improved with snoring detection and nighttime blood oxygen measurement.

95 sports activities

On the sports side, the Galaxy Watch 4 series can automatically identify up to 95 different sports activities to adapt their measurements. It is also possible to create team challenges, and connect it to a Samsung Smart TV for a live display of calories burned and heart rate during a workout at home.

Main specifications

For the technique, we will note a new Super Amoled screen, a new generation Exynos processor supported by 1.5 GB of Ram, a storage capacity of 16 GB and eSIM9 compatibility. Autonomy is about 40 hours. Wireless charging is faster (1h40 compared to 2h30 on previous versions), and 30 minutes of charging allows the addition of 10 hours of use.
