Sonos is preparing its own voice assistant?

The multiroom speaker manufacturer Sonos could soon launch its own voice assistant, not connected to the Cloud.

If we believe a survey sent by Sonos to its users (spotted by VoiceBot.ai), the manufacturer is carefully considering the integration of its own voice assistant in its speakers.

Sonos voice assistant? Serious and concordant clues

The questionnaire asks users in particular to what extent they would be interested in an on-board voice control system that would respect privacy by not sending questions over the Internet to the Cloud, a method used by other voice assistants on the market. Sonos says this "potential new product" would use the phrase "Hey Sonos" for users to control playback, music search and multiroom routing by voice, without requiring an internet connection to send requests to a server.

Asked by The Verge about this assistant, Sonos replied, “We regularly submit product concepts and experiences to our users to better understand what is important to them.
