Less congested than the 2.4 GHz and 5G Hz bands of Wi-Fi 6, the 6 GHz band should have been exploited on a large scale by the Wi-Fi 6E evolution, but ultimately it will be Wi-Fi 7 that will have this claim.
The Wi-Fi 6E victim of the shortage of components
This is explained by Tam Dell'Oro, president of the analyst firm Dell'Oro, who indicates that the distribution of Wi-Fi 6E compatible devices is significantly below expectations. At issue are component shortages, compliance issues with the 6 GHz frequency spectrum and the impending arrival of Wi-Fi 7 products for businesses.

Thus, manufacturers of Wi-Fi devices are giving priority to the Wi-Fi 6 standard, and are busy producing existing products in order to take advantage of the components already available. They estimate that the end of the constraints will not occur before the second half of 2022, which is not far from 2023, the year of deployment of Wi-Fi 7.
The MediaTek founder already ready for Wi-Fi 7
MediaTek has already demonstrated Wi-Fi 7 chips, and Dell'Oro thinks compatible industrial products are on the way. Wi-Fi 7 should therefore quickly become the priority for manufacturers and Wi-Fi 6E will remain a niche.
