Netflix aims for the Yellow Jersey with a series on the Tour de France

The Netflix streaming platform announces its very first documentary series on the Tour de France.

In collaboration with the organizing company of the Grande Boucle and its official broadcaster France Télévisions, Netflix will shoot 8 episodes of a documentary on the biggest cycling race in the world during its 2022 edition.

8 episodes, 8 teams

In reality, the cameras have even already started rolling in the wake of eight teams (AG2R Citroën, Alpecin-Fenix, Bora-hansgrohe, EF Education-EasyPost, Ineos Grenadiers, Jumbo-Visma, Groupama FDJ and Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) which they will follow until July, when the Tour arrives on the Champs-Elysée in Paris.

The sports doc is a hit

The documentary series, produced by the team of Formula One: pilots of their destiny, will consist of 8 episodes of 45 minutes. The broadcast is scheduled for the first half of 2023. A logical continuation when we know the aura of the Tour de France in the world and that sports documentaries are hits on Netflix, even becoming references with Formula One precisely or The Last Dance on Michael Jordan.
