Oppo Find X5 Pro, MariSilicon X photo/video chip and Hasselblad expertise

After our presentations of the new premium smartphones Oppo Find X5 Lite and Oppo Find X5 from the Chinese manufacturer, it's time for the Oppo Find X5 Pro, the flagship of the series.

One of the most important developments brought by the Find X5 Pro compared to the Find X5 concerns the screen. The latter is based on LTPO technology (against LTPS on the Find X5) allowing a display frequency capable of adapting to needs, from 1 Hz to 120 hertz. Result, a significantly lower consumption for the same diagonal. In terms of developments, we also note an IP68 certification, a ceramic back, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and a slightly larger battery capacity of 5,000 mAh (compared to 4,800 mAh on the Find X5).

For the rest, we find the chip dedicated to photo/video capabilities called MariSilicon X. It allows, for example, Ultra HD 4K video capture at night and software settings, the result of a partnership with the famous firm Hasselblad, for shots with more natural colors (see our news Hasselblad photo expertise for Oppo smartphones).

Oppo Find X5 Pro, 6.7'' Oled screen

For the rest, the Oppo Find X5 offers a 6.55 '' (17 cm) curved OLED screen with a resolution of 3,216 x 1,440 pixels (525 ppi) at a 20/9 ratio, occupying 89.6 % of terminal area. The Oppo Find X5 screen has a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus coating and in addition to a variable refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz, it offers HDR10+ compatibility and a bright peak of 1,300 nits. Similarly, Oppo announces Rec.2020 compatibility for unprecedented color rendering.

Oppo Find X5 Pro, processor and battery

To liven up the case, its creator equipped the Find X5 Pro with the Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor (1 x 3.0 GHz Cortex-X2 + 3 x 2.5 GHz Cortex-A710 + 4 x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A510) engraved in 4 nm, supported by an Adreno 730 graphics chip, with 12 GB and 256 GB of storage memory (not expandable). 80 W fast charging (proprietary SuperVooc 2.0 technology to reach 100% battery in 35 minutes of charging) is also on the menu.

Which operating system for the Find X5 Pro smartphone?

It's Android 12 that is at work on the Oppo Find X5Pro. On the connector and connectivity side, there is a USB Type-C port and Wi-Fi 6E Dual Band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.2 (APT-X HD) and NFC compatibility. Note the absence of a 3.5 mm mini-Jack socket but two speakers for improved sound performance.

Oppo Find X5 Pro, triple photo sensor

The Find X5 Pro has a triple rear photo sensor: a 50 Mpxls wide-angle specimen (25 mm, stabilized, 1.0 μm photosite, f/1.7 aperture, PDAF) + 50 Mpxls ultra wide-angle (16mm, stabilized, 1.0μm photosite, PDAF and f/2.2 aperture) + 13MP telephoto (52mm, f/2.4, 2x optical zoom, 5x digital zoom, 20x hybrid zoom, PDAF). There is still an LED flash. For its part, the webcam is a 32 Mpxls model (21 mm, aperture of f / 2.4, photosite 0.8 μm, stabilized). Video capture is possible up to 2160p at 60 fps, 1080p up to 240 fps and 720p up to 480 fps on the APN, 1080p up to 30 fps on the selfie camera.

Precisely, the 50 Mpxls wide-angle sensor benefits from sophisticated optical stabilization, the first on mobile based on five axes: three axes assigned to the sensor + two axes assigned to the lens.

Available in two colors, white or black, from March 24. Indicative price of the Oppo Find X5 Pro: 1,299.99 euros. Namely, in case of pre-order, until March 23, the brand offers a pair of black Oppo Enco X earphones, a black Oppo Watch Free connected watch plus a black kevlar shell always, for a total value of 300 euros.
