4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray US: the (very) good sales figures of the week

US physical video market data for the second week of January, published by US Media Play News magazine and compiled by NPD VideoScan, is available. And the market share of 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray is really, really good.

Thus, for the week of 08/01 to 15/01 (see graph below), sales of 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray discs in the USA represented 19.9% of the physical media market.

For information, this period saw the sales of certain 4K Ultra HD titles increase significantly, enabling them to once again occupy the top of the rankings. This is the case of Dune and Halloween Kills, whose 4K sales respectively represented 39% and 27% of all their discs sold (DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray).

Proportion 4K Ultra HD Blu -Ray for the Top 10 It is the same for other titles released before. Thus, 18% of Blu-Ray discs sold for Free Guy were 4K Ultra HD. Behind, we find Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and The Last Duel, each with 25% of sales in 4K format. Follow Die can wait with 18%, then Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse at 17%, Venom: Let There Be Carnage at 15%, The Suicide Squad at 14%, Jungle Cruise at 12%, and finally Fast & Furious 9 closed the Top 10 with 12%.
