Disappearance of the Sim card on iPhone 14?

The Sim card port could disappear from iPhones in 2022 to favor the eSIim functionality.

Providing access to a second network in addition to that allocated by the smartphone's Sim card, the eSim - or digital Sim - functionality is available on iPhone from the XS and XS Max models. And if we are to believe the Brazilian site Blog Do iPhone, eSim could be the one and only option on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max scheduled for 2023.

eSim functionality for increased waterproofness

More precisely, these models will be compatible with two eSim, just to keep the advantage of the previous configurations. By the way, the disappearance of the physical Sim port would make the iPhone even more water resistant. There are, however, parts of the world where the eSim feature does not exist, which would force Apple to produce multiple versions of the same iPhone. No problem for France however, since to date several operators offer access to their network via eSim, namely Orange, SFR, Truphone and Ubigi.

eSim functionality from 2022 with the iPhone 14?

Note that after the initial rumors, a source from the MacRumors site affirms that the disappearance of the Sim port could happen at the end of 2022 on the iPhone 14. Apple would in fact have warned the main telephone operators to prepare for this change from September. To be continued.
