Used Robots Figure F.02: destruction in molten metal, Terminator 2 style

On the recommendation of the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the robotics company Figure destroyed its obsolete humanoid robots by plunging them directly into a vat of molten metal.

The California robotics company Figure recently asked its followers on social media about how to go about getting rid of its used F.02 robots, in order to make way for the new F.03 fleet safely.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's wise advice

California's former governor himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, personally replied: "you should melt them down". An obvious reference to the way the famous cyborg got rid of his enemy the T1000 at the end of Terminator 2, in a vat of molten metal.

A one-way trip to the foundry

Without further ado, Figure programmed its machines to literally self-destruct, then sent them to a foundry in Finland to carry out this rather unusual plan. The result is a video that you can admire at the top of the article, with an appearance by... guess who? Schwarzy in person. So yes, it definitely smells like a big promotional stunt, but the nod and the images turn out to be delightful for movie fans.
