Apple Vision Pro: a “bright future” according to John Ternus, Apple’s new CEO d'Apple

Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus, had very positive words for the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset. While it is an incredible technological showcase, the product is still often considered the California manufacturer’s ugly duckling because of its particularly elitist price tag.

Barely appointed as Apple’s chief executive at the start of September, officially succeeding Tim Cook, John Ternus had already restructured (read “cut back”) the team in charge of the Apple Vision Pro. A shake-up that could be seen as a sign that the product was no longer an absolute priority for the brand. Yet the new boss still sees a “bright future” for it.

The beginnings of a computer revolution “You know, for me, the Vision Pro is an extraordinary device,” he said into Mouloud Ashour’s microphone for the Clique program. “It’s absolutely extraordinary, but I see it as the beginnings of computing. We are at the dawn of a long journey; that’s how I see the Vision Pro.”

A cutting-edge tool for surgeons

And he added: “What you see today with the Vision Pro is that, of course, some early adopters love it, use it and enjoy it. But you also see surgeons beginning to use it in the operating room, because it is simply a fundamentally better tool for them than a monitor placed next to them.”

John Ternus said that users were finding more and more applications for the Apple Vision Pro and that it was precisely on this front of uses that the device was building its potential.
