Unique event in the worlds of streaming and video games, the exclusive broadcast on Netflix of the huge trailer for the video game Grand Theft Auto VI was a winning bet for both developer Rockstar and the streaming platform [abc].[abc]streaming[/abc]
A peak of 100,000 new subscribers in six hours
Big promotion on the biggest [abc]streaming[/abc] service for the former, and the potential addition of new subscribers for the latter. And that did not fail, since according to Ampere Analysis estimates, during this six-hour exclusivity window, Netflix recorded around 100,000 additional members, who presumably subscribed mainly for this trailer.
The platform's third record of the year
Note that this is only the third subscription spike recorded this year, behind the Stranger Things finale and the Rousey VS Carano MMA event. Ampere adds that among existing subscribers who had left the platform for more than a month, more than 5% resubscribed for the occasion.
An impressive result when you know that this is "only" a video game trailer, even if the majority of fans did not give in and patiently waited six hours to watch the sequence on YouTube.
