The well-known Chinese leaker Ice Universe shared what appears to be the first photo of the iPhone Ultra, Apple's upcoming foldable smartphone, on Weibo. Whether it's a prototype stolen from the production line or a dummy model, the image finally reveals the highly anticipated design of the device.
Given that Apple's first foldable smartphone is currently in production, it's likely this is a genuine model. However, it's impossible to rule out the possibility of a dummy version, the kind Apple sends to accessory manufacturers so they know the exact dimensions of the device. The iPhone Ultra, a limited production run, is expected to launch in 2026. Note the color of this iPhone Ultra: white, one of the two colors the device is expected to be available in upon release. The other color rumored is a dark blue, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro. The fact that only two shades will be available is most likely because this product, a pioneer of its kind for Apple, will not be mass-produced. The iPhone Ultra is expected to be released no earlier than September 2026.
