New Siri: a security advantage?

Details on how the new Siri assistant, powered by Apple Intelligence, will work and will arrive at the end of the year with iOS 27 after numerous delays.
Ahead of an official announcement at WWDC 2026 on June 12, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg recently revealed new details about the new, smarter Siri assistant, integrated with Apple Intelligence. He confirmed that Siri will be a fully-fledged assistant, like ChatGPT or Gemini, and will have its own dedicated app. To differentiate itself from the competition, Siri will rely on a core Apple principle: security and privacy. While competing chatbots offer incognito modes and the option to not share interactions, these options will be enabled by default on the new Siri, or at least very clearly presented to the user. Gurman also mentions a "search or request" mode, activated by swiping down from the center of the screen. Finally, each time you open the application, you can either launch a new instance or resume a conversation saved in your history, which can be automatically deleted according to your desired settings. The new Siri is expected to arrive this fall with iOS 27.
