iPhone Ultra Vs Galaxy Z Wide Fold: Samsung advantage?
01.05.2026 • 09h09
The Samsung Galaxy Z Wide Fold, a new foldable smartphone designed to compete with the first iPhone of its kind, will have a feature absent from Apple's model.
Generally reliable, leaker Sonny Dickson recently published dummy images of Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the new Galaxy Z Fold Wide, which will be launched this summer. A 4:3 aspect ratio similar to the iPhone Ultra, but with the added benefit of magnetic wireless charging. As a reminder, this model, already mentioned in previous rumors, has unique dimensions: shorter and wider than the Z Fold, with a 4:3 screen ratio, just a few tenths of a millimeter from the dimensions of the very first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Ultra, which will be launched shortly after. A way for Samsung to welcome its competitor with a friendly "welcome"... And the Korean company will have an advantage in at least one area: wireless charging. Indeed, the images show the characteristic circle on the back of the device, defining the position of the magnet that supports wireless charging (see below). A circle that is not found on the dummy models, already "leaked," of the iPhone Ultra. For the rest, we note that the Z Fold Wide makes do with a dual main camera sensor, like the Apple model, compared to three for the Z Fold 8 (and its predecessors).
