17.03.2026 • 15h00
Following our presentation of the Philips OLED761, Philips OLED811, and Philips OLED911 TV series, we conclude our exploration of the manufacturer's 2026 OLED TV range with the Philips OLED951 series (also known as Philips OLED+951), equipped with the latest generation of Meta 4.0 OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panels from LG Display.
The Meta 4.0 OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel isn't the only advantage of the OLED951 series. Not to mention its P5 Dual Engine chip (dual graphics engine), promising unprecedented image quality thanks to phenomenal processing power, and a new Smart TV platform. A spectacular upgrade that confirms Philips' ambition to once again compete with the very best. Philips OLED951: OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0, 4,500 nits and an expanded color gamut. The Philips OLED951 series therefore adopts the brand new Meta 4.0 OLED Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel, an optimization of the Tandem technology introduced last year. Thanks to its stacked structure with four red, green, and blue emitting layers, it reaches an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits, while maintaining 400 nits of full-screen white. Color coverage has also improved, with 99.5% of DCI-P3 and 83% of BT.2020, while the anti-reflective coating blocks over 99% of reflections. The TV thus gains in readability, brightness, and color purity, even in brightly lit environments. Also noteworthy is a 165Hz refresh rate. Philips OLED951: Next-generation P5 AI Dual Engine processor, AI-assisted HDR processing. Video processing is handled by the P5 AI Dual Engine chip, in a version updated for 2026. This new iteration introduces several exclusive technologies, including Specular Highlight Enhancement for finer highlight management, AI Machine Learn Sharpness V3 for increased sharpness, and AI Smart Bit Enhancement V4 and AI Perfect Reality V4 for better handling of compressed sources and fine details. Meanwhile, the new AI HDR Expansion/Restore function analyzes each image to restore the original dynamic range of the content. The processor also integrates AI-assisted HDR Tone Mapping, capable of analyzing each image to simultaneously optimize dark and bright areas. The Philips OLED951 is compatible with Dolby Vision 2 Max (see our IFA 25 news > HDR Dolby Vision 2, everything you need to know about this new quality standard!), which introduces a next-generation Dolby Image Engine enhanced with Content Intelligence features: Precision Black and Light Sense optimize black levels and light balance, respectively. Similarly, the TV also benefits from Authentic Motion, a new shot-by-shot motion processing system designed to deliver a more cinematic, judder-free picture. Specifically, the TV automatically adapts the display according to the content and viewing environment (sports, video games, etc.), further enhancing contrast accuracy and color saturation. Philips OLED951: 4-sided Ambilight + AmbiScape. The viewing experience is extended by four-sided Ambilight, now compatible with the AmbiScape feature. This allows the TV's lighting to be synchronized with several connected lamps in the room, extending the ambient lighting far beyond the screen's frame for total immersion. Philips OLED951: 70W 2.2 Audio, a redesigned architecture. The audio section has also been revised. The 70W 2.2 system relies on a digital crossover that precisely distributes the signal between the two-way left and right speakers. The previous single bass speaker is replaced by two compact subwoofers, each housed in a redesigned enclosure. This architecture improves the sound balance while further refining the TV's profile thanks to repositioned and more compact speakers. Each channel benefits from its own signal processing for enhanced audio quality. Philips OLED951: HDMI 2.1, HDR10+ Gaming and Minimap Zoom. Gaming remains at the heart of the OLED+ experience. The Game Bar automatically detects the most popular games and applies the associated optimized settings, including for the growing number of HDR10+ titles. Gamers can create custom profiles, which are saved and automatically recalled for subsequent sessions. The OLED951 also offers a minimap zoom function, allowing you to enlarge a game's minimap, reposition it on the screen, and adjust its transparency. Thanks to the MediaTek Pentonic 800 chipset, the TV has four HDMI 2.1 ports compatible with consoles and high-performance sources. Philips OLED951 TV, Titan OS: new Smart TV platform Titan OS. No Google TV or Android TV on Philips OLED811 screens, but the new Titan OS 2026 Smart TV interface, developed in partnership with the European company of the same name and launched in 2024 on the Philips PML9049 Mini LED and Philips PUS8909 LED TV series. This operating system, created by former employees of Disney, Roku, Rakuten, KKR, and others, allows access to major streaming services (Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Disney+, HBO Max, Pluto TV, DAZN, and Apple TV+, which is planned for spring). It also integrates AirPlay 2, Google Assistant, Works with Alexa certification, and Control 4 compatibility, not to mention the new Moments app, which allows for quick transfer of your favorite photos stored on your smartphone to the big screen and the addition of visual and sound effects. Good news for gamers: the latest version of Titan OS offers the Game Bar feature, providing access to the Blacknut and Boosteroid cloud gaming services. This feature also allows users to quickly access game settings and switch between them on the fly without wasting time, for example, by choosing from various game profiles (FPS, RPG, etc.). MEMC Gaming motion compensation processing and Dolby Vision Gaming HDR offer an exceptional gaming experience. The Game Bar displays an FPS (frames per second) counter for optimal game settings, and FreeSync Premium and G-Sync certifications are included. Philips OLED951: Ultra-slim design and premium finish. In terms of design, the OLED951 boasts an ultra-slim style with a minimalist black metal frame and rounded metal feet in a satin chrome finish. A sleek and elegant aesthetic that underscores its premium positioning. More details in an upcoming news item. Available this summer. Suggested retail prices not yet known.
