Is a "true" portable Xbox still in development?

While the Xbox name was associated last year with two handheld consoles from Asus, Microsoft reportedly still intends to release its own machine.
As we know, the ROG Xbox Ally handheld consoles launched last year aren't "true" Xbox handhelds, since they're produced and marketed by a third-party manufacturer specializing in "pocket PCs." Xbox: Home console and handheld still on the menu? While we once thought a true Microsoft handheld, like the home Xbox, wouldn't see the light of day, the latest leaks suggest otherwise. This information comes from Jez Corden of Windows Central, known for his reliable information on Microsoft consoles. According to his sources, this Xbox handheld is still in development, even though priority is being given to the new home console, which wouldn't be released until 2027 at the earliest. Regarding this handheld, Corden specifies that it should draw inspiration from the ROG Xbox Ally, particularly for its ability to launch games from several third-party services like Steam or Epic Games.
