Apple reveals that more than a quarter of the world's population now uses an iPhone. Creepy or exciting?
With the announcement of its latest quarterly results, Apple revealed that the global installed base of iPhones has now reached 2.5 billion. iPhone, exceptional customer satisfaction, according to Tim Cook. This figure is all the more staggering when compared to the world's population of 8.3 billion. Apple's smartphone is thus in the hands of more than a quarter of humanity. "A testament to exceptional customer satisfaction," Tim Cook stated regarding this result. Furthermore, in the last quarter of 2025, the iPhone 17 range enjoyed tremendous success, considered compelling enough for iPhone owners to trade in their older models for one of these new smartphones. As a result, revenue reached $85.3 billion for this quarter, compared to $69.1 billion during the same period the previous year.
