CES 26 > LG Display announces the Tandem brand to strengthen its OLED leadership

LG Display is taking another step in structuring its OLED offering with the official launch of Tandem, which will be featured at the upcoming CES 2026 in Las Vegas in early January. This technology brand is designed to identify and promote its next-generation OLED panels. This branding strategy is a first for the display manufacturer since the launch of OLED technology in 2013.
With this strategic initiative, LG Display aims to better differentiate its innovations and strengthen its position as a global leader in OLED with its customers, namely consumer electronics brands, automotive manufacturers, IT companies, etc.

Tandem: Stacked OLED Emitter Architecture for Enhanced Performance Behind the Tandem name, LG Display highlights a so-called stacked OLED structure, in which the three primary colors [abc]RGB[/abc] (Red, Green, Blue), also known by the acronym RGB (Red, Green, Blue), are arranged in independent, superimposed layers. This architecture allows for simultaneous improvement of: • Panel lifespan • Maximum brightness • Energy efficiency, while retaining the fundamental advantages of OLED in terms of contrast and color fidelity. Tandem OLED and Tandem WOLED: The Two Make a Pair LG Display takes the Tandem brand a step further by combining two suffixes, WOLED or OLED, two closely related technological processes. The first refers to a white light source combined with an RGB structure, intended for medium and large screens (monitors and televisions), while the second refers to the superposition of two RGB layers, reserved for small and medium screens (tablets, laptops, automobiles, etc.). In fact, LG Display is unveiling two brands instead of one: Tandem OLED and Tandem WOLED. LG Display specifies that its Tandem OLED structure, based on a stack of organic RGB emitters, remains an industry first in 2026. The Tandem brand, and its two sub-brands Tandem OLED and Tandem WOLED, will be showcased at the upcoming CES 2026 in Las Vegas, from January 6th to 9th.
