CES 26 > Hisense UR8S/UR9S Mini LED RGB TVs, from 55" to 100"

Remember, at the beginning of last September, in the boarding area of an Air France flight to the IFA trade show in Berlin, we met representatives from Hisense France, who were also heading to the German capital. On that occasion, we learned of the upcoming launch of a new U9 RGB Mini LED TV series (see our news item (UPDATE) IFA 25 > Surprise: Hisense announces the U9, the first consumer RGB Mini LED). In fact, the brand will be releasing two RGB Mini LED TV series in 2026, the Hisense UR8S and Hisense UR9S, in addition to the UX series already in its catalog.
The Hisense UR8S and Hisense UR9S series therefore illustrate the Chinese firm's new offensive for 2026 on the emerging market segment of RGB MiniLED TVs. The goal, of course, is to democratize this premium display technology, which until now has been limited at Hisense to XXL models like the 100UX and 116UXQ (see our news article Hisense UX TVs: 100" and 116" Mini LED RGB + 110" Mini LED). Hisense UR8S and Hisense UR9S RGB Mini LED TVs, 100% BT.2020 compliant. The Hisense UR8S and Hisense UR9S TVs feature a combination of an RGB Mini LED backlighting system and AI processing for sound and image, implemented by the new Hi-View AI Engine RGB processor, for (very) high-flying performance: 100% coverage of the BT.2020 gamut (compared to 95% on the 2025 UX series). Naturally, this chip will also be used for managing contrast and motion compensation.

Another major upgrade on the Hisense UR8S and Hisense UR9S TVs is an anti-reflective (Glare Free) coating for maximum viewing comfort, even in brightly lit rooms. The latest technical upgrade, compared to those announced at IFA 2025, is a sound system designed by the French company Devialet (Tuned by Devialet label).

While Hisense hasn't revealed anything further about its UR8S and UR9S TVs, the information shared in Berlin in September almost certainly remains valid. including HDR10+/HDR10+ Adaptive HDR Dolby Vision 2 certifications (see our IFA 25 news > HDR Dolby Vision 2, new Tone Mapping and better picture quality?) and native 165Hz compatibility for the UR9S models. Not forgetting the Vidaa 6 operating system for all Hisense Smart TVs in 2026. Finally, regarding the screen sizes of the Hisense UR8S/UR9S series, the company has not provided any more details than in September. While, as announced, the Hisense UR9S models should be available from 55" (140 cm) to 100" (254 cm), little is yet known about the screen sizes of the Hisense UR8S series. Availability of the Hisense UR8S and Hisense UR9S series is expected in the second quarter. 2026, in time for the next FIFA World Cup to be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Indicative prices are still unknown.
