Tandem Oled LG Display for the iPhone 20?

Korean LG Display could become a supplier of choice for Apple smartphones by 2028.

According to Korean media outlet DealSite (via Apple Insider), citing industry sources, LG Display could supply Tandem Oled technology screens for Apple's 2028 smartphones, namely the iPhone 20.

The Korean manufacturer is reportedly in contact with Apple on this subject and is currently working on developing these screens. No final decision has been made yet, but such screens have already been supplied by LG Display for the 2024 iPad Pro. Be careful, however, if the Tandem Oled technology used on the iPad Pro (different from that implemented on Oled Primary RGB Tandem of the LG G5 or LG M5 TVs) actually consists of superimposing two classic Oled panels, thus generating more brightness and improving contrast for lower consumption, Apple Insider is talking about Simplified Tandem Oled technology for the iPhone 20.

The process still involves assembling two OLED panels, the first with RGB emitters, the second composed only of blue diodes. This then looks very similar to the Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology that appeared on the LG G5/LG M5, Panasonic Z95B or Philips OLED910/Philips OLED 950 OLED TVs in 2025.
