Bigger screen for the base iPhone 17, it's confirmed

It looks like the base iPhone 17 will no longer be the smallest of the four models in the lineup.

The rumor was launched as early as 2023, then repeated recently by analyst Ross Young: the iPhone 17 screen will have a 6.3" diagonal (6.27" to be precise) compared to 6.1" for its predecessor iPhone 16.

And the information is again corroborated, this time by the Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, known for its reliability. As a reminder, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max display 6.7" and 6.9" compared to 6.1" and 6.7" on the previous models, while the iPhone 16 had not seen any evolution in terms of screen size. To summarize the presumed sizes of the screens of the range which will be released next September:

• iPhone 1: 6.3"

• iPhone 17 Air: 6.6"

• iPhone 17 Pro: 6.3"

• iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.9"

In addition to this change in size, the iPhone 17 will also benefit -finally- from a LTPO screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a feature previously only reserved for the Pro models. In fact, we even expect the arrival of the Always On function on this model. Finally, note the move to a 24 Mpxls sensor for the selfie camera, compared to 12 Mpxls on the previous iPhone 16.
