Foldable smartphone, Samsung arch-leader

For 2023, growth is expected to continue as estimates see a figure of 26 million. Naturally Samsung, which recently released its Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4, is a leader in the sector. Far behind, Huawei and Oppo occupy second and third place.

Foldable smartphone, strong growth in 2022

Foldables are the fastest growing smartphone category this year, similar to last year. Growth that goes against the current global economic difficulties, demonstrating that the market for premium smartphones is resilient, and demand remains strong.

The word to Jane Park from Counterpoint Research

“Samsung has been the market leader since its inception, explains Jane Park of Counterpoint, and we believe that this domination will last for a while. Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo introduce new models, but they are confined to the Chinese market. For now, Motorola might be the only competitor in markets like the United States.”
